Your Honor Review ~ Lies, Secrets, and Whatever it Takes to Save Your Child

Your Honor is a powerful show about a judge trying to cover up his son’s hit and run. Michael Desiato is an honest and respected New Orleans judge. But when his son, Adam, accidentally kills the son of Jimmy Baxter, head of a dangerous organized crime family, Michael is forced to make some impossible decisions to protect his son. Lies and cover ups lead to more lies, secrets build, manipulations begin. How far will Michael go to save his son?

Bryan Cranston!

If you have ever watched Breaking Bad then you already know how amazing Bryan Cranston is. (If not, stop reading this and go watch Breaking Bad). As Michael Desiato he is just as compelling. He plays a desperate father who loves with no bounds but also has humanity and convictions as a judge. It feels like this part was written for him. Hunter Doohan (from Wednesday fame) is perfect as Adam also. He captures Adam’s innocence and sweetness so the audience can empathize with him and understand his predicament. I wanted to save him too!

It’s so relatable

This show is so relatable as a parent. There are two perspectives shown. One parent doing everything he can to protect his child from being hurt. The other parents doing everything they can to avenge their son’s death. Both are completely understandable and watching it unfold can be interesting but difficult as well. It’s complicated.

There’s so much more!

Season 1 is complete. It is intense, smart, well written, and beautifully acted. There is so much more to it than what I mentioned above. It also involves a gang, a little bit of politics, someone being framed, family drama and other relationship issues. It has a little bit of everything and it is well worth your time. Season 2 is in progress right now and is equally intriguing. This is quality TV, people. Don’t miss out.
