Platonic Review ~ Love, Friendship and Shenanigans

Platonic is about former best friends, Will and Sylvia, who haven’t spoken in several years due to a major disagreement. But when Sylvia hears that Will is going through a divorce, her husband, Charlie, encourages her to reach out to Will. This time around though things are a little different. Sylvia isn’t as carefree as she once was. She has a strong marriage and three children. Will, on the other hand, is somewhat of a man-child himself and kind of a mess. He is a brewmaster at a bar and just lives a more laidback lifestyle than Sylvia.

Not their first time

Will and Sylvia are played by Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne who were in Neighbors and Neighbors 2 together. They have great chemistry and are so at ease with each other. It’s believable that they are best friends. Luke Macfarlane plays Charlie, Sylvia’s husband, and he is so likable and charming you just cannot help but love him.

True BFF’s

I don’t know if this is a spoiler or not but I love that this show is not about the two of these people hooking up. It really is about a man and a woman being best friends. I truly believe that is possible and these two show it in the most hilarious and beautiful ways. And I love how Charlie supports their friendship.

Another good one!

Will and Sylvia experience ups and downs in their relationship, they learn from each other, and they lean on each other. Plus the shenanigans they get into are hysterical. It’s a light and funny show. Another hit for Apple TV+ in my opinion.

Good Stuff: Chemistry between Will and Sylvia, shenanigans

Bad Stuff: I didn’t love the ending, it was just ok
