The Watcher Review ~ Creepy, Intense, and Entertaining

In The Watcher, Nora (Naomi Watts) and Dean (Bobby Cannavale) move their family out of the city and into their dream home in the suburbs. They soon realize they may have made a huge mistake. All of their neighbors are extremely strange and they start to receive threatening letters from a stalker. One thing is certain. No one wants them to stay in their new house.

Creepy, twisty fun

The Watcher has many of the my favorite things. There’s a mystery to solve, many probable suspects who all seem guilty, and several twists. I do love a good twist. On top of the usual fun stuff it is super creepy. These characters are so disturbing because they appear normal then flip like a switch. Maybe normal isn’t exactly the right word. There are quite a few nail-biting scenes in this one!

Based on a true story!

Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Dahmer) is a writer and director of the series. Like most of his work this show is dark and twisted. But the most frightening thing about The Watcher is that it’s based on a true story! Knowing it really happened made it even more intense to watch. If it would have been me it would have been a really short story. I would have left that house the first day!

Good Stuff: Creepy, Intense Fun, Good twists

Bad Stuff: Weak plot point at beginning (sorry, no spoilers)

Where to watch: Netflix
